Ajax XML responseXML Dom Methods to handle XML Tutorials

I'm looking for some really good tutorials that use DOM methods to access some data contained in the XML document. I'm just learning Ajax and everything seems pretty straight forward. Where I'm lacking is on the XML handling once the XML is returned. I have searched the web but there are so many I'm looking for some that  is very detailed and indepth.

Thanks!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You are already there. Make a question, best with your testing code, and we try to answer that what you ask.
Otherwise you have always the problem that every guide is explaining that what the guide wanted to explain.

I just need to know how the DOM can handle the XML? Nothing specific yet!
