Windows XP reboots with Event ID 4321

My system reboots randomly and the only error in the event log is Event ID 4321 with a source of NetBT.  The error reads:

The name "LFC            :1d" could not be registered on the Interface with IP address 192.168.1.101. The machine with the IP address 192.168.1.100 did not allow the name to be claimed by this machine.

How can I fix this.  Help!!

Hi mota1961,

The server only reboots or show a BSOD ?

Is that the only event do you have ?

Please check the ip settings / dns and default gateways.

Miguel, The system just out of the blue reboots.  No BSOD at all.  I replaced the motherboard and Video card and tested the RAM and is still is doing this.  This system was just built clean with all new items.  New MB/RAM/Case/Power Supply/Hard drive,  everything brand new.  The default gateway is set to 192.168.1.1 and my dns server is set to my ISP DNS Server.

Thanks for helping.

This problem may be caused by a NetBIOS name conflict between the workstation and either another workstation with the same NetBIOS name, or a workgroup or domain with the same NetBIOS name as the workstation.

This just means there is a computer with the same netbios name on the network as what you just setup.

goto system properties
computer name tab
click change button
and change the computer name
