I just literally did a fresh install of my dell pc about 1 week ago. A couple of days ago my Mcaffee subscription service started behaving strangley so I decided to get rid of it, I am certain that was the cause of a lot of instability on my previous setup.

It wouldnt remove on the add remove menu, so I needed to use a program called "your installer" which is supposed to remove every last ttrace based on a database of software fingerprints... yeah right..

I then useed "registry Mechanic" to clean the registry and it appeared to get rid of a lot of mcafee related rubbish.

I still had a lot of files etc left on the syatem so I deleted them with the help of Process Explorer and Dr Delete by deleting them on startup.

It might be worth noting that I had disbled all of the mcafee related services and startup stuff through "msconfig" before doing any of this. (I dont k now if this has any bearing on why it is still not uninstalled fully.)

So at this point I am patting myself on the back thinking I have despatched with this sticky program... wrong ... I decided to take part in windows live onecare securtiyy suite beta but it wont allow me to install as it says Mcaffee Firewall is installed! I did a search in the registry and there seems to be quite a few little references here and there...  It seems Mcafee is simular to the t1000 in T2 bastard just wont die! I would be really grateful for any help on this..
