Our company currently uses an external pop/smtp server with our staff connecting directly to them via their email clients to download/send their emails. Because we would like to save bandwidth when an email is sent internally, we would like to install a local mail server between the pop/smtp server and the users allowing local mail to stay local (the server would get the pop emails then put them in local mailboxes that would be checked by the users locally).<br />
Does anyone knows of a mac appplication that could do this or is this something that MacOS X Server can do?<br />

Macintosh: POP email retrieval for local delivery?

Apple devices including Macs, iPhones, iPods and iPad support standard wired and wireless networking technologies, but they also utilize custom applications and some special techniques for networking with each other and with non-Apple devices. Apple manufacturers the AirPort line of wireless networking products, and has its own networking protocols, AppleTalk and AFP (Apple Filing Protocol).
