default permission 775 by using vsftpd

I setup up vsftpd as my ftp server on FC3. I would like the default setting of the newly created files/folders is 775. Could you tell me how to config it?

here's the section that relates to your problem

Edit the file:
/etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf

find the line:
local_umask=002

change it to:
local_umask=022
(or whatever umask you want for your premissions)

Restart the ftp daemon with:
service vsftpd restart

You will still need to chmod the files that have been created already:
chmod -R 644 /path/to/the/files
(-R is for recursive)

I would like to have file permission 775. Therefore, the value of local_umask should be 002.
