What I am looking for is a way to take a snapshot of the current CPU usage on a Linux box.  I have seen the article:    http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/javaqa/2002-11/01-qa-1108-cpu.html

I am completely new to JNI, and I dont think that the solution given in the article is platform independant - or at least I can't get it to work. I was wondering if anyone has actually worked this problem before, either by using the suggested method in the javaworld article or another way.  I was hoping someone could drag me through the problem.

Thank you.
