Outlook email address auto-complete - nk2 file

I know that the autofill email addresses are kept in the OUtlook.nk2 file.
We jsut did a domain switch and I located the user's old nk2 file but she states that the addresses are too old and her new ones are not there. The date on the file was 2 years old. Is there another place that these could be save?

Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Greetings, Pdeters !

Older Outlook keep the nickname file in a .NICK file.  Do a search for *.NICK

NK2 and NICK files are hidden files.  Go to any folder and select Tools > Folders Options > View. Check "Show hidden files and folders".  Click OK.

Best wishes!
Is the place that you looked for the NK2 file:
C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook in the name of <profile name>.nk2

DId that.

would the date on the file be the last time it was updated or would it be the created date?
the NK2 file date should be last time it was updated.  If the NK2 is corrupted, then file would not update.  So the data in between is lost.  Best to start over again.  Rename the NK2 file.  Outlook will recreate a new NK2 non-corrupted file.
