Reporting Services help!

I have an ASP page with a dropdown and a button.
I also have a reporting services report. Its very simple. It selects data from one column and allows the user to sort by another column.

When a user is on the first asp page they will select a value from the dropdown and click the button. I want the button to call the reporting services report.
Instead of just selecting data from one column, i want to select data from that column where another column equals the value from the previous page's
dropdown. the user will still be able to sort by the other column mentioned above, but the value from the dropdown will remain the same throughout this
session.

I'm not sure if this needs to be coded in the report, or if there is a RS control, or both, or what??? Can someone get me in the right direction? TIA

If you are using datasets to populate the report, then you should incorporate this logic in creating a dataset.

How do I do that?
SireesCommented:
Use Query string to pass the column value from the previous page to the current page. Then select the data from the two columns (one from the drop down list in the current page and the other from query string).

You can either sort the data in the query and display the data in the report or retrieve the data and then sort it in the report.
