I am trying to start my first JSP application ...but Unfortunately ..I am unable to do so

I have created a Dir say  -------

rootDir --and placed in the webapps .

The rootDir has one has one html page ..and other jsp pages ..but I am unable to run the web application (see the HTML page too)
It says : No Context configured to process this request ..

Other Dirs in the webapps seem to work without a problem .I even added the context element in teh configuration file .But this does not work either

Am I missing something .I am using 4.1.3 and I am on Linux box
