I am using MS Access with an ODBC connection to ORacle. In Access i am using passthrough query. Thus the sql syntax i am suing is ORacle syntax.

before i converted the sql into ORacle syntax, i was using straight Access syntax. I asked access to prompt me to enter in a date range using the following syntax "  a.date_ordered between dateValue([Enter the Start Date (mm/dd/yyyy):]) AND DateValue( [Enter the End Date (mm/dd/yyyy):])  "

in Oracle i believe the syntax is
" a.date_ordered  between &startdate AND &enddate  "   and this works in sql plus, why doesnt this work in TOAD.

when i use the sql plus syntax i get an error stating  "ODBC call failed not all varialbles bound"

note that only occurs when i add in the syntax "a.date_ordered  between &startdate AND &enddate  "

thank you
