"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I assumed SBC is your ISP. IPCOP works just regular home/office router/firewall so connection will be something like this

             | connection to phone/cable
          ------
             | ISP Modem/Router
          ------
             | IPCOP
          ------
             | HomePC
          ------

IPCOP will have an option for with your ISP, I mean red interface can be configured to use DHCP and it get ip address from your ISP. Your computers behind the IPCOP will get non routable IP range. Something like 192.168.0.X

I hope it helps.
