I am setting up my first MAC based VLAN a Passport 8600. I want this VLAN to be DHCP enabled. The DHCP server is on a remote subnet. I have enabled DHCP for the VLAN and have configured the agent and server addresses, but it ain't working. I'm using a computer that is coming in on a port which is a member of both the MAC VLAN and the port based VLAN that the DHCP server is on.
When I attempt to get a DHCP address I get one for the port based VLAN (two scopes, different subnets(using microsoft DHCP server)). Of course once I get an address I can't communicate as I've got a wrong address for the subnet I'm on. When I set DHCP relay minimum seconds to 0 I don't get any address, but when I set it to 1 second or more it works, but on the wrong VLAN. I know Microsoft implemented the seconds field on clients to some silly high value (thanks Microsoft). Max hop is set to 4, and mode is set to both. Always broadcast is off.
If I set the IP config manually everything works great! Any ideas... PLEASE?!?!?
If I could give more points I would
