Hi, I'll try to make this as clear & concise as I can...

Currently I have two offices in two locations across the UK, both offices have broadband access (with different service providers).
Both sites connect to the net via the same Linksys WAG54G Wireless router.

I am very keen to use the VPN function of these routers to connect the two sites, but could do with a little help clarifying the steps I need to go through...

This is how I see the setup...

Site A: having a local address range of 192.168.1.X
Site B: having a local address range of 192.168.2.X

Now on the routers the following settings need to be applied...

Router A:
IPSec Pass-Through: Enabled
PPTP Pass-Through: Enabled
Local Secure Group:  IP - 192.168.1.1 Mask - 255.255.255.0
Remote Secure Group: IP - 192.168.2.1 Mask - 255.255.255.0
Remote Security Gateway: (Site B external IP address)
Encryption: DES
Authentification: MD5
Key Management: Auto (IKE)
PFS: (enabled or disabled)?!?
Pre-shared Key: (currently empty)
Key Lifetime: (3600) seconds

Router B:
IPSec Pass-Through: Enabled
PPTP Pass-Through: Enabled
Local Secure Group:  IP - 192.168.2.1 Mask - 255.255.255.0
Remote Secure Group: IP - 192.168.1.1 Mask - 255.255.255.0
Remote Security Gateway: (Site A external IP address)
Encryption: DES
Authentification: MD5
Key Management: Auto (IKE)
PFS: (enabled or disabled)?!?
Pre-shared Key: (currently empty)
Key Lifetime: (3600) seconds

So what I am asking is... do these settings look correct?
Could someone explain what the PFS stands for... and am I correct in thinking that the pre-shared key needs to be the same on both routers... if so does this pre-shared key need to be a HEX key?

Hope someone can help.
