Auto Populate a field based on forms already created.
I have a form that will be utilized to track issues. I need to have one of the fields autopopulate based on the last document created.
e.g.
CAR_Number (has choice of A-Apple - P-Pig - E-Elephant) from a drop down box.
CAR_Number_1 (should be a numeric field)
CARNumberComputed (brings together the previously listed field to show a complete document number)
I need to be able to:
1) Autopopulate CAR_Number_1 based on previously created documents...populate with the next number in line.
2) Somehow trim the value that is brought into CARNumberComputed from CAR_Number so that only the first digit of CAR_Number choice is shown.
e.g. Choose A-Apple from drop down menu autopopulate numeric field and the output shows
A1234 or A-1234

My first line was out of line. I shouldn't have said that, not very professional or expert-like. Apologies.
