Gmail HTML editor
Hello,
I know this gmail hack hast to have been made by now but I cannot find it for the life of me.
I want to get a "hack", code, snippet, whatever that will allow me to create gmail messages in html. Right now you get to use either rich text formatting or just text.
I would be extremely gratful if any can find this for me.

Thank you for your concern on the subject use of the term "hack". I am referring to the benign definition of the term. Also the very last thing I want is to violate the ee and/or gmail tos and have my account suspended! I have looked carefully into this and based on my research google encourages these "hacks" as long as they do not violate their mantra of "do no evil". This is evident by watching how these "hacks" end up becoming a standard feature in gmail. The newly added delete button is a great example.
My main goal for wanting an email editor is so I can place paypal buttons in messages I send to clients requesting payments. These buttons use a form to submit the payment information. I am currently having to place a link in the gmail messages pointing a webpage where the button is located on my server. This extra step while not super time consuming is frustrating when trying to send out multiple invoices a day.
I have also used war1's suggestion but this also is an extra step. Plus I have now stopped using Outlook and all other machine based email programs to a web based system with gmail being my main email handler and others as backup and exporting locally as further backup.
There is a maxthon browser based plugin called html gmail http://forum.maxthon.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15766 but I am using firefox 1.5 as my preferred browser. But it shows exactly what I have in mind.
It may be true with what RomMod was getting at as far as this may violate some part of the terms of service since I spent over 4 hours looking for this and only finding the maxthon example. It seems very strange this is not a "hot" hack/mod.
Again I will gladly immediately comply with the Email Page Editor requests as the last thing I want is to cause any issues with either ee or gmail.

Thanks again for your suggestion but as I mentioned in my last comment I have already used this solution but I wish to streamline the creation and sending of these invoices to just one step in gmail if possible. So I would create my button in paypal then cut and pasted it directly into a html editor equipped gmail message and send it out.
It is looking like this type of mod is not available, too bad because it would be super cool. Oh well.

Can't you use the Gmail-provided SMTP (and POP) services and use a standard email client to create the messages? Sounds simpler to me...

Do you have a suggestion for one, not MS and pref. internet based. I know of thunderbird but again, I really don't want to deal with any email coming or going on my computer. Basically I am trying to keep as few programs as possible on my computer.
I am still tripping that a gmail html editor mod has not been made for firefox but has been made for maxthon...it's crazy.

With Thunderbird you can leave all of your email on Gmails servers, and create and send HTML through gmails servers. Let us know if you need help setting it up.

Gmail does not have an HTML editor. You can forward HTML document and pictures if you have Rich Formatting enable in the Compose box. So you may want to create an HTML document with an email client like Outlook and send to Gmail. Then in Gmail, forward the email to final recipient.
