Transfertext Syntax Help

Hi im having problems with the correct syntax for the transfertext function

I have two strings "copyPath" & "filname" which contain the path and filename of a textfile i need help with the correct synaxt to set up the transfertext function to import files with copyPath and filename

I Have the following but i cant get the syntax correct,

DoCmd.TransferText_
acImportDelim , , _
"DFILE"
copyPath &"\" &  &filename, _
True

Any help would be appreciated

From what you have typed you
1) are missing a comma after the table name "DFILE"
2) have too many ampersands in the filename parameter

try

DoCmd.TransferText_
acImportDelim , , _
"DFILE",
copyPath &"\" & filename, _
True

Another way to handle the filename is to dim a string for the filename set this string to do your concatenation and refer to the string in the transfertext as below
Dim strFileNm as string
strFileNm = copyPath &"\" & filename
DoCmd.TransferText_
acImportDelim , , _
"DFILE",
strFileNm, _
True

Thanks, That works,

However its coming up with a message you cant import this file can you think of any reason why?

its comma a comma delimited .csv file

I modified the code to the following and works fine now.

DoCmd.TransferText acImportDelim,,"Dfile","" & copyPath & "\" & Filename & "", true
