We have multiple DC's in multiple sites all in the same domain. Replication is working everywhere but for the 2 DC's in the problematic site. The DC in this site is getting access is denied errors when trying to replicate and also when I click Start, Run, and type "\\server_name" I get the Logon Failure : Target Account Name Is Incorrect. The server can ping other computers throughout all sites by name so it doesn't seem to be a DNS problem. Best I can tell, it's been over 1 month since this server replicated with any servers in the other sites.

All signs to me point to a machine account password problem. I found the document http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q260575 there that explains how to reset the machine account, however it isn't working. I get the error, "The machine account password for the local machine could not be reset. Logon Failure : The target account name is incorrect. The command failed to complete successfully.

All DC's are Windows 2000.

Thanks for any help.
