Hello I am getting to many errors in my Exchange Server in the Application Event Viewer those error are Event ID 7010, 7004 and 7002 .

Those events started since I applied Service Pack 2 to My Exchange 2003 Server

Here is an example from 7010

This is an SMTP protocol log for virtual server ID 1, connection #890. The client at "68.50.119.148" sent a "helo" command, and the SMTP server responded with "501 5.5.4 Invalid Address  ". The full command sent was "helo D7R0V771.hsd1.md.comcast.net.".  This will probably cause the connection to fail.

Example from 7004

This is an SMTP protocol error log for virtual server ID 1, connection #884. The remote host "167.206.4.77", responded to the SMTP command "rcpt" with "550 5.1.1 unknown or illegal alias: Laypneq@optonline.com  ". The full command sent was "RCPT TO:<Laypneq@optonline.com>  ".  This will probably cause the connection to fail.

From Event ID 7002 ( This is only a warning not an error )

This is an SMTP protocol warning log for virtual server ID 1, connection #467. The remote host "66.83.239.70", responded to the SMTP command "rcpt" with "450 <mongotn@libertyfibersusa.com>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table  ". The full command sent was "RCPT TO:<mongotn@libertyfibersusa.com>  ".  This may cause the connection to fail.

I will really appreciate your help to get rid those errors.

All of those errors basically mean the same thing. The user doesn't exist at the remote site.

Have you looked at your queues? Do you see lots of messages in there?

Have you got diagnostic logging turned up on the transport section?

I donĀ“t have too many messages in my queue in fact none of the messages match with the domains I see on the Event errors.

I have not done diagnostic logging on the transport section

How can I do that ?

Thanks
