Adding dns entries to resolve IP addresses
I have a problem on an small business server (2003) that i'm hoping someone can provide a quick answer too....
We recently upgraded all of the clients from 98 to XP, i know that the clients should point to the main server for their dns resolution and this works fine. However i need to add 14 addresses into the dns server so that they can resolve these names for a remotely hosted application. i have the site names and static ip addresses i'm just not sure where to enter them in the snap in.
Need to get this resolved quickly, any help really appriciated!

This solution is only available to members.
To access this solution, you must be a member of Experts Exchange.
To do this
open DNS MMC right click your server and click properties. click the forwarders tab then click new. Add the domain name and then add ip address of any dns servers for that domain.
Or if you want to add a different domain name to your dns server then right click forward lookup zones click new zone go though the wizards either adding a secondary zone if you want to replicate from another dns server or primary if you want to host your own.
If your are hosting your own then you need to add (A) host records to your new zone follow Mazaraat's post.
