Wreless Access Thru Hotspots

Wireless Security
I have 2 users taking new laptops out of town where they will be accessing internet via Wireless Broadband at the hotel.  The laptops have the latest updates from Windows, Norton AV, and MS antispyware.

It seems to me that I read somewhere in recent months that Wireless access via Hotspots introduces some different vulnerabilities.

I don't want these laptops coming back with something that will infect my network internally when they plug back into it on returning.  Is this an actual viability?  Are there other steps I should take?  Should I just disable the wireless cards and preclude wireless internet access all together.

Thanks for all input
