Exchange 5.5 and Syslog Messages

I have a question.  I am evaluating syslog messages and I can see my syslog server spitting UDP traffic (on semi-random ports) to all kinds of places (on our internal network).  It appears that each IP address uses a particular port.  I noticed it because it is being denied across the board.  Is this normal traffic to be expected from a mail server?  Feel free to ask more information.  It does not appear to be using port 25 or 110.  Any thoughts?
