Web server OS recommendations

Hello experts:

I've proposed a new office server and web server for a potential client.  For the office server, I'm planning Windows 2003 Small Business so that we can use Exchange for inhouse email, plus file, print, and backup services.  They have a three or four web sites that we are also planning to move in-house.  I proposed a Linux server running Apache for this.  As I look further, it appears they have written their primary site in .ASP.  Is there a valid reason to switch to Windows/IIS rather than Apache?  If so, would I need additional user CAL licenses for the additional server??  They work with video productions, so there will be some trailers, etc. on the site, plus a shopping cart and some substantial FTP usage.  I feel I'm still on the learning curve with web servers, so please let me know if I'm on the right track.

Thanks,
Jon

Yes, we're planning two servers - one with Windows 2003 SBS (with 20 user CALs), and the other a Linux server for web and ftp.  I don't know what database they're using (or if they're using one at all).  I have looked on their web site and notice a lot of .ASP extensions.  Since I don't have access to their actual files, I just looking as an end user right now.  I'll see if I can find out what database they're using.  If I do need to switch the Linux (web) server to Windows based, do I need to purchase additional user CALs for that server or are the user CALs for all servers within a domain?  (I know that's probably a very basic question, but I've mainly dealt with single-server environments or a non-windows mix.)

Thanks,
Jon

Well, I'm not sure if I'll get this bid or not.  Thanks for your suggestion and comments.  I'll be back with more if things start moving along.

Thanks,
