the primary domino server not receive incoming mail

there are primary and secondary domino server, my primary domino server will handle all incoming mail, secondary as a backup, i found that my primary domino can't handle incoming mail server, now my backup domino handle the incoming mail and transfer to primary one, however, the backup domino server network connection very slow, it delay the msg and timeout, what and how i need to check on the primary one. (the primary may handle incoming mail sometime, but less)

can telnet the primary domino server 25 port and 110 port
mx record config right
firewall work properly

What are the error messages you are receiving ?
Check Event logs, log.nsf and any other logs ?

When did it stop working ?

What has changed ?

Do you have MX records for both servers?

I do have the following MX record
5 antispam gateway
10 primary server
20 secondary server

the antispam server and primary server stay as same physical location in same network.
antispam gateway can receive mail and pass out successfully, tried to send out mail via telnet on antispam gateway server, it send out successfully, then the primary server haven't handle it, and wait a period the secondary server handle that mail and route from secondary server to primary server.

sometime the primary server can handle, but very less mail, seem around 1% mail.
