How can I make the cords for my electronics retractable?

Having taken apart a broken cord retractor, I feel like it would be easy to make generic versions of cord retractors, in different sizes,  that the end-consumer can easily install onto any cord.  This would allow me to make all my portable electronics' cable much easier to transport, without having to buy new ones with the retractors built in.  Does anyone out there know of such a product?  My Google searches just result in me getting swamped with products that already have cord retractors.

Thanks,
Ching

Hmm...not quite what I'm looking for, but it would do the job.  What I'm hoping for is a snap-on version of the retractors like the ones ZipLinq uses.  If nobody out there knows of such a thing, I guess I'll go with the Cable Turtle.

Ching, do you still need more help on this matter? If no, please distribute the points and tell us what solution worked!
I actually went with the CableYoyo, another product they carry at cableorganizer.com.  However, I bought it for significantly less money at jr.com.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, though!

I have done a lot of research and there appears to be no device to take existing cords and make them retractable, look what one brainiac did:

I also found a patent on the idea, but no product as of yet...waiting patiently
