I must try to setup a Switch on our network.  It is right out of the box, it is a Nortel BayStack 470 Switch.  If I plug the DB9 console serial port (from the front panel of the Nortel Switch) to the back serial port of a Windows 2000 PC, then try to connect to the Switch via HyperTerminal, I do not get a logon prompt or nothing.

I have never tried to configure a switch, right out of the box.  I know the switches that are already configured, I can access the web-interface by typing the IP address associated with the switch.  But, this Switch doe snot have an IP address yet, I must assign it first.  Can anyone help me with this?

Thank you,
