ASP and mySQL: Basics question

OK guys, I'm a bit of a dinosaur of the coding world, but I did some ASP a long time ago, when it first came out.

I'm looking to come back to it, since I'm sure I can still hack my way around once the old grey matter gets a kick start.
Trouble is, my platform back then was ASP via IIS to SQL Server.
My hosting package nowadays provides ASP 4.0.1L and mySQL 4.1.12.  So I want to write some ASP that accesses a mySQL database.

So, what do I need?  Well, basically a leg up on getting started with this combination of bits, ie. syntax, advice on anything I need to set up, include files I need, etc.

Looking for some mickey mouse asp code (ie all the code) to do the following.

Open a database
Read a record
Update the record
Write it back
Close the database

For simplicity's sake, let's:
 - call the database "blob"
 - call the table "tab1"
 - assume the table has a very simple structure, like:
     key1 (numeric primary key)
     value1 (text)

Full, working code will get the points, and a top grade!

Thanks in advance  - MorFF
