Obtain a copy of the missing file csapi3t1.dll and place it in the folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Proof".

If the above instructions do not work, follow the procedure here

I edited the registry and still have no spell check.

I have to ask something here....this is my second xp computer (both with  works) and the second one without a simple program like spell check in OE.  Is it really poss Microsoft expects people who want spell check in OE to edit the registry???

Unless you have anyother ideas i will get a 3rd party software

Mike, make sure that MS Word in MS Works has spell check enabled.

In OE6, disable spell check.  Close OE6. Enable Spell Check.

Mike, were you able to get a copy of the missing file csapi3t1.dll as outlined above?

oh yea I did the regedit transfer and all, got an icon "check" to have color yet it does not a thing, and the spell check is sill grayed out.  I do not have any setting internally in OE for spell check, the only indication that it is available is on the icon bar.
