I am running a PDC with Server 2003 and Exchange. I have a few clients that would like to connect to Exchange using Outlook from outside the domain. Outlook is able to acknowledge the SMTP but not POP3. Closer inspection of Exchanges Services indicate that POP3 is not turned on and will NOT start up through services (times out). Would it hurt anything to turn on server roles of SMTP and POP3 from the Server roles Wizard?
