I am about to upgrade a windows 2000 AD domain to Windows 2003.
I have ran adprep /forestprep on the schema operations master and adprep /domainprep on the infrastructure operations master which are the same server (DC1).  I have one other AD domain controller that is also a global catalog server as well (DC2).
I have Exchange Server 2003 running on a stand alone Windows 2000 Server (MX).

The question is, what would be the best practice for order of upgrade.  I really wanted to upgrade DC2 first, but my better senses tell me that the one that holds all the roles (DC1) should be the one that I should upgrade to 2003 first.  Rebooting DC2 will not affect my current users or production environment so that I why I was leaning towards bringing it up to 2003 first.

Just looking for suggestions and experienced replies.

Thanks,
Mike
