hard drive space

i recently found that my original hard drive (C:) was running out of space (9 GB original size).  So I bought an 80 GB internal drive and installed it as the slave drive.  then i copied all of my documents over to the new drive(D:) to free about 1GB of space on the C drive.  I thought this would take care of the problem, but somehow, even though all new programs are put on the D drive this 1 GB of space has dwindled down to 188 MB.  What action should I take?  Looking back I could have reformatted the old drive and made the new drive the master drive, but now I've got about 14 GB on the D drive and I don't think I can do that anymore.

i can't find the swap file "pagefile.sys"
Stupid windows will hide system files until you tell it to show them (and warn you it's dangerous to show them). You can't just move this file, anyway. You have to move it using the controlpanel>system>performance or something similar.

Sorry - should have been more specific. For XP - Control Panel, System, Performance - Settings, Advanced, Virtual Memory - Change. Set C: to No Paging File, click Set. Set D: to System Managed Size, Click Set. Close and reboot.
