Configure gnome desktop
I am struggling to configure the gnome desktop.
I need to set the window manager so that when a window is moved the display does not fill in the window until the mouse button is release. Only an outline of the window is shown during the move. (We have a user in the far east trying to use a machine in the UK over a slow line).
I only have an xterm available, no menus. In kde I can run the command "kcontrol" and this will bring up the Control Centre, in which I can find the appropriate control. However I need to do the same in gnome. Is there an equivalent of kcontrol, or is there another way of configuring this.
Thanks
