Sorry for the lack of points - waiting for my boss to ok a subscription.

Basically the problem is -

Domain with 1 DC and about 40 winxp clients clients can browse network and connect to server fine, server can ping clients and access them through UNC names but cannot browse network.

Server 2003 should be master browser but for some reason isnt and one of the clients keeps randomly becoming the master broswer - if i turn off that client another client becomes master browser.

If I run browstat status on server it shows nothing at all just a blank line.

If i run browstat status on a client it shows one of the other clients as master browser

if i run browstat getpdc on a client i get unable to get PDC : access is denied.

please help me if you have any ideas - im stuck.
