Is it possible to add a .rc file to a static library? I did this in a library, where only the code in the library needs those resources (to create a dialog box). My code compiles and links fine, and the executable that uses the library as well. But when my executable calls the library that should show the dialog box, it is not shown. The function DialogBoxParam returns -1, which probably means that the resources were not found.

If I add the .rc file to the resources of the application (by right-clicking on the resources and choosing 'Resource includes'), it works, but I don't want that customers have to do this extra step if it is already in the library.

I use Visual C++ 6.0 on Windows 2000.
