File System Object - How to check if network share exists.

Odyssey122 asked
Last Modified: 2008-02-01
I need to know if a network share exists.  A user will put into a form \\\c or something to that effect and I already have my code parsing and verifying that the IP exists, but I haven't figured out how to verify if the SHARE exists.

Can anyone help me with this?

nah I had something similiar to that already constructed.  It just keeps telling me it doesn't exist.  thanks though..almost jumped up and shouted halejuiah until I tried it...  :(

Figured it out...thanks man...  It was a permissions issue, made a virtual directory and set the permissions up to use windows authentication and it works fine now.  Thanks bjd...
Glad you figured out the permissions ... just remember that what ever account that is used in the windows authentication that the account must have rights to the network share as well.

yes, I am aware...this is just for my domain...no one else will access it.  Thanks for the advice and help man...much appreciative...
