VISUAL BASIC ERROR WHEN OPENING EXCEL SPREADSHEETS
I have two computers. One runs Win2k, and the other runs WinXP. When I open an Excel spreadsheet on the XP machine, I get a MS Visual Basic error "System Error &H8007007E (-2147024770). The specified module could not be found."
Then a VB debugging window opens. I then get a MS VB Out of Memory error. After I close the error and the debugging window, I can view the spreadsheet with no problem. But, how do I stop this from happening? I do not get this error on my Win2K machine.
I have already tried CCleaner with no effect.
Thanks!

Thanks, but there is nothing in the XLSTART folder. How do I turn off Visual Basic? It seems to be generating the error. It doesn't happen when I open Excel. Only when I load a spreadsheet.

Hello rmallach,
--------------
the autostart folder for automatically included add ins for excel is
C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Appl
check that folder and eventually move the addins to another place to see if excel is able to start
