Remote Desktop into W2k Wkstn

I'm trying to setup remote access to a win2k wkstn PC.

I've got Port forwarding setup
I've enabled the RRAS service on the PC

the instructions on the MS site say to run the Remote Access (RRAS) wizard from the "Start|Admin Tools" menu... it's not there.  There is no remote access option there.

Where will I find the wizard?  or how else can I configure the PC?

Thanks for info so far folks - yes I plan to use RealVNC if I can't get windows native functionality.

Clarification wanted from David please:

I like your answer as I'd love to use RDC if I could - I looked it up on MS site, and found this download http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/tools/rdclientdl.mspx
which appears to be for the RDC client only.  Are you saying it is possible to Remote IN to the W2k machine? (which is what I need to do) - is there a different RDC server download for this?

are you using Microsoft windows 2000 pro or server
If you have a server on your network and you would like to beable to connect to the workstation remotely or from the workstation to the server you need to install RDC on the workstation. If you need software providing for the workstation please let me know and i will look up some suitable software for you.

I have recently used RealVNC but thing can go a bit slow, nobody wants that to happen.
The plan is to remote in direct to the win2k pro PC from home, not involving the server at all.

I didn't quite understand - are you saying that you CAN remote into the PC if it has the RDC client installed? doesn't it need to have something like terminal services setup?
Can i just ask you, Are you trying to access a home computer from a workplace or are you just accessing the computers from within your home
visa versa - accessing work computer (w2k) from home (XPpro).
Right, the best application to use for that is RealVNC or UltraVNC. If you have more than one computer in your home that you wish to connect to the best program to use is RDC which can be installed on the windows 2000 computer by using the windows xp professional CD (if available) If you cannot get hold of a windows xp professional cd i will get the software you need free, and its legal, i must mention this. If you are going to connect from home > work and work > home, the best VNC to use is enterprise, this is if you are conscious about security. Otherwise, connecting home "2" home does NOT require terminal services. You only need terminal services if you are using a server. You will need to purchase a Client Access Licenece (CAL) from microsoft if you are connecting from desktop to server. Otherwise, thats all you need to know.

Thank You very much and i hope this helps you on your way to success.
Thanks.  I'll use RealVNC.  I'm not sure you're right about terminal services.  You can install TS on a workstation, (thus making it TS Server I guess) and this is how I envisaged setting up his w2k pc.

The prob with RealVNC is that his work will be visible on his office screen while he's using it remotely - and this is the chief exec - so that is not ideal.  This is why Remote Desktop/TS would be better.  He's just going to have to lock his office.

I'll split points, cos you all cleared up a few things - I wasn't clear that RRAS just wasn't avail on 2000 wkstn, and I didn't know that RDC client could be installed on other OS's.  That will be useful another time.

Out of interest what is the RRAS service on w2k wkstn for? to client into 2000 server?
Im not sure what RRAS is i will look into this.
