<asp:fileupload> Why can't I fire code by pressing the open button?

I have an <:asp fileupload> control on a form.  It browses fine and everything but I want to upload the file when I hit the 'open' button on the fileDialog.

Instead, I have to choose the file, 'open it' and then have ANOTHER control that 'Submit's the file.  An extra step.

Similar to <input type=file onChange="loadTheFile">  only <asp:fileupload> control does not have an onChange event.

Instead, I have to do this, an extra step

       <asp:Button id="Load"
           Text="Open It"
        OnClick="loadTheFile"
           runat="server" style="left: -182px; position: relative; top: -294px">
       </asp:Button>

Thanks
Doug

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try adding a client side event in Page_Load like

FileUploadControl.Attributes.Add("onchange", "this.form.Load.click()")
