40 EIO 2 Bad Transmission

From a network printer, I am getting "40 EIO 2 Bad Transmission"  whenever print jobs are triggered, and nothing prints out.
How do you troubleshoot this?

It may be an issue with the communication of data from the network to the printer - okay, that seems obvious - and reseating the connection and EIO card may be the solution.  If another EIO Slot is available on the printer try the card in a different one.  If that doesn't work, confirm the EIO Card is good and/or exchange with a known good card.  Could also try a different cable to connect to the network.  Other ideas can be found at the following:

While the following is rather long it seems to provide some other ideas which may be of benefit.  Firmware update, system configuration - idle time.

Hope the above helps.  :-)

As a further comment to my previous, the focus of the problem is with the Network Card, the connection of the Network Card to the Printer and to the Network.  if each of those parts work then progressing out to the next layor out.  I suspect the most likely canidate for the problem is reseating the Network Card connection and then checking the network card itself - maybe in another printer.  Clearing the Card and reconfiguring it for the printer might be a good option when/if you can talk.  End result may be a Bad Card?

ASKER

"network card" means "network card" inside the printer, right?
