If you need to open a gigabyte sized text file, then UltraEdit is nice to have. &nbsp;Otherwise, I'd strongly recommend EditPlus.

Does anyone know an alternative to Textpad?<br />

I use TextPad, and it is a great product. Super for viewing large text files, but one thing I don't like is that it uses non-standard keyboard-shortcuts. For example, to find something you press F4 instead of CRTL-F , or to replace something you press F8.<br />

When forming habits and programming in SqlServer, it can be very dangeous to press F5 by accident! <br />

I use TextPad, and it is a great product. Super for viewing large text files, but one thing I don't like is that it uses non-standard keyboard-shortcuts. For example, to find something you press F4 instead of CRTL-F , or to replace something you press F8.

When forming habits and programming in SqlServer, it can be very dangeous to press F5 by accident!
