Device required- Stream Audio

OK, customer has a viao with media center. I got him an MP101 so that he could stream his tunes to his stereo.

He does not want this.....he would preffer to use media center and select the tunes from the laptop and for it to play on his stereo, his laptop is no where near his stereo.????

Basically a 5$ cable would do the trick straight from his laptop to stereo but he does wants to be able to float about

any ideas????

you need to create a wireless network...
What O/S is the laptop?

Will he spend more bucks $$$????

you will have to get a WIFI router G... and there should be a network adapter in both the media centre & laptop.. .preferably wireless-G.

sorry guys, im rubbish at explaining things

Thats just like what I got him. He has a wireless router and a netgear mp101 thingi but it streams the tunes to the stereo via the remote control. (the device has a display)

All he wants to do is select the tunes from his laptop and have them play to his stereo. I personally preffer the device above but he wants it that way.

Keystroke redirection software could do the trick. Or if he wants to move around with laptop, he could install VNC on media centre and his laptop.
