Changed ISP - previous ISP logo still appearing in IE

I'm not sure I'm in the right Topic area here, but I find it hard to categorise this one. I recently changed my ISP and since doing so, when I open IE at my home page (or any address) the Microsoft logo appears on the far right of the menu bar momentarily, then flashes off and the previous ISP's logo flashes in its place. This happens a few times until the page loads and then the former ISP's logo replaces the Microsoft logo and remains until I change addresses and it all happens again!  I don't know if this is interfering with my settings in any way, but I would be much happier if it wasn't there as I no longer have any connection with their service.  There must be some setting somewhere that is controlling this, but I cant find it.  I am running Window XP and IE Version 6.0.2900.2180_xpsp_sp2.gdr.050301-1519. I have called both my current provider and the previous one, and neither can tell me why it is there or what to do to get rid of it.  I hope you can help.

Article from Microsoft on removing Internet Explorer Logo:

Quote from the page:

This article describes how to restore the animated Internet Explorer logo if it has been changed by your Internet service provider (ISP).

When you browse the Internet with Internet Explorer, the animated logo in the upper-right corner of the window spins, indicating that activity is taking place. Your ISP can customize this logo by using Microsoft Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK). For example, MSN, The Microsoft Network, version 2.5 replaces the animated Internet Explorer logo with an MSN logo.

NOTE: Your ISP may also customize the animated Internet Explorer logo in other programs such as Microsoft Outlook Express.

To restore the animated Internet Explorer logo, delete the BrandBitmap and SmBrandBitmap string values under the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar
After you make this change, quit Registry Editor and restart your computer.
