Migrating Windows 2000 to Windows Server 2003 SBS

Hello All,

I have to do a migrate tonight at a client's location. They have 2 domain controllers running Windows 2000 Server.

DC Server Services

1. Domain Controller
2. DHCP
3. WINS
4. SQL Server
5. Jive Messenging Server
6. Veritas backup server

Mail Server Services

1. Domain Controller
2. Exchange Server 2000
3. VPN Services
4. WINS

I have setup 2 New Windows Server 2003 SBS Boxes, ECPDC and ECPMAIL. The ECPDC is going to replace the DC server and the ECPMAIL will replace the MAIL server.

So far on the ECPDC I have done all updates, promoted it as a Domain Controller, and Seized the FSMO roles. On the ECPMAIL, I have done all the updates and install exchange 2003 software

I need somebody to give me steps, advice, and tips on how to complete the migration. I have the document from microsoft on how to do these but i need more of a step by step thing. It doesn't have to go into details.

thankx.

"I have setup 2 New Windows Server 2003 SBS Boxes"  You can only have one SBS server per company.,...  This statement seems like a problem to me...Plus all services (Exchange, SQL, etc) must remain on the SBS server...

ASKER

I just confirmed that they are not SBS edition.
"I need somebody to give me steps, advice, and tips on how to complete the migration. "  What is your goal?  Are you doing an inplace upgrade of the domain?  or installing a new domain and perfroming a complete migration.  Your question is too general.....need more information.
I wanna replaced the Windows 2000 server. I would like to take them compeletly off line and have the 2003 server take there place. The domain name will stay the same.
Thanks for the exchange article. I won't be taking the old DC from the network right away. Just demoting it into a member server, and have all the clients authenticare withe the new server.
