Error: not enough memory or resources-paint not working

Hi,
I am not able to use MS Paint tool that comes with Win XP. When i try to open it  i got error:
"There is not enough memory or resources to complete operation. Close some programs, and then try again." I have Win XP with 512kb RAM. From the Task manager, I see that  there is available 60% of total physical memory. I also copied a file mspaint.exe from another computer to C:\windows\System32 and C:\i386 and then try to run, but the same error. Any ideas of what is going on and how to fix it?
Thank You,
Margots

Thank's preskh for replay,
In registry  editor, when i navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\Paint
I cannot find Paint Key. I see Colors, General-bar1 trough 4, General Summary, Recent File list, Settings, Text and View. Am i doing something wrong?
Thank you.
I meant the Paint key in the left pane which has the sub-keys Colors, General-Bar etc. You should delete that key. I am not talking about any value in the right pane. Just delete the whole paint key from the left pane. The colors, General-Bar etc keys will also get deleted. When you run Paint again Windows will rebuild it.
Got it... Thank You. It works now. Just for curisity, will windows rebuild registry for every program that it cames with? how do i find the registry entries for particular program(tool)? ...just for learning.
Thank you again,
Margots
Yes, windows will rebuild its registry key for most of the essential programs. But we can't take this for granted. We have to very cafeful while deleting entries from the registry. Don't delete any key unless you are absolutely sure that deleting that key won't cause any problem. Deleting or modifying some important key from the registry can cause serious problems. Always make a backup before attempting any registry modification. See this link:
