Outlook 2003 Calendar Background Color for Current Day

Is there a way to highlight "today" on the calendar with a different background color so that when looking at the schedule, today STANDS out?  When glancing at the calendar now, you have to look at the month and day of the week to make sure you are in the correct month.  Different months are highlighted with a different color, so why not highlight the current day with a unique color so when you look at your calendar, if you don't see that color, you know you are not looking at the current month.  Not a big deal....just one of those annoying things.  Maybe this is easy, so I'll give it 50 points for now.  If it proves more difficult, I'll up the points.  Thanks!

I haven't found a way to produce a different color for the "today" box in the month view, but I did notice that in 2003, the current day does display with a grey shaded area w/ line under it at the top of the day's box to help you identify where "today" actually is.

Are you able to see that on your calendar?  It was hard to see at first, as today is Sat, and the box for Sat is not as large as the others, so I changed my system date to a day last week and the grey shaded underlined area shows up to indicate where "today" is.

Possibly with an add-in..  I know that Agendus ( http://www.iambic.com/agendus/winoued/ ) displays the current days date in RED font.. not what you were looking for, exactly, but at least it stands out a bit more than the other days.  Agendus also has other custom coloring options (but I couldn't find one to color the background a diff. color just for the current day.  There may be another add-in that can do that..

Will keep searching to see if there is a way to do this.

Additional notes:

1. Article where Outlook MVP says changing color of current day is NOT possible:

http://www.mcse.ms/archive128-2004-10-1143444.html

2. Another MVP says the same thing I said earlier, that the current day will be "shaded"

http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.outlook/browse_thread/thread/fc95387be9e237cb/8a29f57aec0be44f%238a29f57aec0be44f

P.S. If you can't see the shaded header at the top of the current day, change your calendar's background color to another color..perhaps it will make the default header color stand out more.

Hope this helps...

p.s. seems the color of that shaded header is tied to your system colors..
if it's hard to see, you also might try changing your system colors to make it a more visible combination of colors..   It is tied to the "3D"

Display properties / Appearance / Advanced / Item / 3D objects.

Please know that this item includes windows, so most of your desktop will appear this color when working in windows!!    I changed it to RED to see if would stand out more, and almost blinded myself!  ; )

Thanks!  Changing the screen defaults took care of the problem.  In the Windows "Display Properties" on the "Appearance" tab under - "Windows and buttons": I changed the setting from Windows Classic Style to Windows XP Style.  Now the current day is highlighted at the top border of the current day.  With this setting, the current day IS easy to pick out!   Excellent detective work.
Great.. glad it worked for you... thanks for the points!  ; )
