Hi, this could be an easy question. As the title of the question says is there a method for combo box components in Flash where I can use to have the combobox display/preselect a specific item in the list.

suppose your comboBox instance name is "myCombo" and you want to pre-select the third item...

    use following code:

    index start from 0,

    that so,
    for first item, 0
    for second item, 1
    for third item, 2

thanks for the answer, I had tried a similar simple code that you gave here, but it didn't work initially. The problem was that I had put the code in my timeline before populating my combo box with items. So it could never preselect and display the item. I just had to move things around in my timeline in order to get it to work. Nevertheless, thanks for the answer.
