I want all newly created users to have roaming profiles - how do I include that in template

IN a new install of SBS 2K3, I made some users.  then I wanted to set up roaming profiles (and folder redirection).  so in each user, I set the profile path as \\server\profiles

But for future users, I want that to be built into the template / populate that field in the user properties automatically.  I put \\server\profiles\%username% in the field in the template, but then when I look at new users, it's not in the user's properties... and the template says \\server\profiles\user_template or something similar (the template has the wrong username and it doesn't even populate the newly created users.

what am I missing!?

Thank you!
