Modify SMS 2003 advanced client cache size

Has anyone had to modify their SMS advanced client cache size for the whole site and if so, how did you do it?

I need to modify the SMS Advanced Client cache size settings for the whole SMS 2003 site in order to push XP SP2.  My default size when the client was installed was 250 and I'd like to push it to about 900 MB.  Microsoft recommends that you use a script and says you can "deploy a script by using an advertisement, by using Group Policy."  The link they provide in kb839513 that details this process hasn't worked for months.  I have the VB code to set it, but have had no luck using SMS installer or Cscript remotely to get it fixed.  Any ideas?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

SMS can simply launch a batch file, so you could push your vbscript that way.
