Trying to uninstall Nero 7

When I try to uninstall Nero 7, my Add/Remove programs says:

"Error applying transforms.  Verify that the specified transform paths are valid."

I've tried using the Clean tool, but I get the message:

"The Nero General CleanTool has detected some Nero appliucations which are not supported by this version.  In order to avoid damaging of your system the application will be closed now."

I can't delete the folder in Proigram Files because it says its in use - how can I remove this damn thing?

Download and install this:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301

Run it and select anything Nero and remove it.
Go to Start>Run>Services.msc and stop any services that belong to Nero.  Set the startup type to Disabled.
Reboot.
Delete the Nero folders in Program Files.
Go into the registry and check for Nero and/or Ahead entries and delete them.  I suspect you'll find some in the Run or Runex keys as well as under Services.

Reboot.

You should be good to go.

If you're timid about the Registry then backup the keys you are deleting by right-selecting the parent key and going to Export.  Save the key to a reg file.

Thanks I"ll try that - I still cannot delete the 2 dlls within Program Files: Nero: Nero 7: Nero BackItUp: mfc71u.dll and NBShell.dll

No problem.

Run this:

regsvr32 /u c:\program files\nero\nero 7\nero backitup\mfc71u.dll      <= hit enter.
regsvr32 /u c:\program files\nero\nero 7\nero backitup\nbshell.dll      <= hit enter.

These DLLs should now be unregistered and can be deleted.

Unregistered them both - they still won't go in teh trash - no big deal, i can live with them being there...

I suppose they should hurt anything if the reset is gone.
