New Sony DVD RW + R not working

Hello,
I just intalled a new Sony DVD RW in my PC and for some reason when I boot up the Disc opens up and won't stay closed.
Everytime I close it, it just opens again.
Is this somekind of defect?
Any ideas??

The faceplate has not been installed properly. If you have changed the faceplate and/or bezel, make sure you have changed both. You will also need to pull the drive out and apply a little extra force to the faceplate and bezel to hear them "snap" into place.

Thank you so much. I've given you the point but I wonder if you wouldn't mind answering one more question if you will.
I just built this PC and in this case I bought from Comp USA there are a white and a green wire twisted together. One says + and the other says -
Can you please tell me where these go if you know?

That sounds like it's the cable to connect your drive to the audio card on either your systems motherboard or sound card if you have one.  You'll have to refer to the documentation of your devices to find were to plug that bad boy into! Glad to help!
