backup will not load tape

Hi All,

my tape back up never seems to run is there anything wrong with this?

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntbackup.exe backup "@C:\Documents and Settings\tonyblair\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows NT\NTBackup\data\backuptotape.bks" /n "Media created 15/03/2006 at 08:22" /d "Set created 15/03/2006 at 08:24" /v:yes /r:no /rs:no /hc:on /m normal /j "backuptotape" /l:s /g "b1dc648f-85c6-4c6d-8107-998386d0fe0f" /um

what if you ran it manually from BACKUP? Does it work?

no, just sits at status - mounting the media...

was created throught the wizard apart from me adding the /um switch.

has worked once on all the tapes but now has not worked for over a couple of weeks.

would not run

got error - the requested media is not online. please insert spcified media .......

this happens on no matter which media it try.

all media are labelled per day mon - fri

Mondays tape still in so used first media. (servers are hosted so difficult to get at them, have got issue with all tapes though)

does it at least rewind/forward format???

it could be a faulty tape drive.

what is the command to format the tape?

Look in the menu for Initialize... with NT Backup
